Stainless steel is the preferred enclosure material for use in the chemical, food and beverage, water treatment and allied industries. It offers good corrosion and chemical resistance, a durable finish that does not need painting and high impact resistance. The latest addition to the Hammond Manufacturing range is the attractively priced Waterfall Series wall mounted enclosures, specifically designed for installation in applications where wash down capability is the key requirement. It is approved to NSF/ANSI 169 - Special Purpose Food Equipment and Devices, and is UL and CSA certified to NEMA 3R, 4, 4X and 12 (IEC60529 IP66).
The Waterfall Series is initially available in 18 sizes, ranging from 16 x 12 x 8 inches to 60 x 36 x 16 inches, in both 304 and 316 material. For easy cleaning, a smooth #4 finish, with the top and the door top sloping at 25° to promote water run-off. The sloping top also prevents clutter being placed on the top of the unit, an important consideration in facilities implementing 5S working practices that promotes order and cleanliness in the workplace. A V-shaped lip channels water around the door opening and creates a large gap between the door and the body for easy access for cleaning. Crevice-free quarter-turn door latches and an easy to clean lift-off hinge design also contribute to easier cleaning.
Differing lengths of stainless steel wall mount standoffs are available as standard accessories, as are fixed and variable length floor stand kits. Painted or galvanized inner mounting panels are specified separately and a wide choice of product-specific accessories such as gland plates, windows and climate control equipment is available. Hammond’s low-run modification and configuration service enables the Waterfall family to be factory modified to individual customer specification, or alternatively detailed DXF and STEP drawings are freely available for customers who prefer to do their own modifications.
