Mouser Electronics, Inc. is the first global distributor to stock the new NPR-101 harsh media pressure sensor from Amphenol Advanced Sensors. This silicon-based micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) device provides highly accurate pressure readings for harsh media, including vehicle transmission fluid, oil, and fuel.
The Amphenol Advanced Sensors NPR-101 harsh media pressure sensor, available exclusively from Mouser Electronics, uses “Backside Absolute Pressure” technology designed for harsh media exposure, which eliminates the direct contact of the sensing circuitry with the applied media. The device is coupled with an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) to provide a ratiometric output proportional to the applied pressure.
The NPR-101 sensor includes integrated diagnostics and operates at a full-scale pressure range of 300 PSIA (20.68 Bar) and an output range of 10 to 90 percent of the 4.5 – 5.5 VDC supply voltage. The sensor features a proof pressure of 1.5 times the rated pressure and a burst pressure of 2.5 times the rated pressure. In the -20 to +100 degrees Celsius range, the sensor’s total error band is ±2 percent (±3 percent in the range of +100 to +140 degrees Celsius).
